    Transffering names on house title
My Girlfriend And I Agreed To Move Into A House , But We Could Only Get It With The Title On Her Name Because I Previously Sold My First House In A Short Sale. 7 Months Come By And We Are Splitting Up, But She Said I Can Keep The House And I Need To Put My Name On The Title And Remove Hers. How Do I Do That?

She has to sign a quit claim deed deeding the property to you. Is there a mortgage on the property? If so, they may call the loan if you do this. Also there may be tax implications since she would be selling you the house.

    Hello G:

I'm going to be a little more emphatic than my friend, Scott.

Clearly, you have a mortgage or you wouldn't have mentioned your credit situation. Therefore, should you attempt a quit claim, the bank WILL call the loan.

You're either going to have to finance the house yourself, or she's going to remain on the hook.
