    Divorce in VA
Looking for any and all advice/support in handling a divorce in VA. I'm 27 y.o. with a 4 y.o. daughter. I really am not happy in my marriage of almost 7 years, so I want out! I've seen an attorney, but I'm not clear on everything so I'm looking for more help with this. I'm currently apartment hunting so that when I tell him that I'm leaving I have a place to go. I plan on taking our daughter with me. What do I have the right to take out of the house with me now when I leave. My family is very supportive in this decision and want the best for me but they are in Wisconsin so they can only do so much! Anyone have any words of wisdom/Advice/ideas?

    Thank you!

What did your attorney say? You can take your clothes and the child's. You can take the child's furniture. You may be able to take some other belongings that are yours. If in doubt take it, you can always return it if the divorce settlement says you can't keep it.

Anyone know since we have to be separated for a year... does he legally have to pay for my daughter and such? Or do I have to try and make it work without his help!

That would be worked out as part of the settlement agreement.

Sorry that should have been separation agreement. When you got to court to formalize the separation a preliminary support and visitation agreement will need to be put in place.
