I've got to raise a bathroom floor about 12" to allow for some drain lines. The original floor is concrete and I'm not moving the toilet's location. Is there a way to attach to the existing closet flange and extend the pipe up to the new floor level without jack-hammering around the flange, cutting the pipe, and tying-into it below the flange?

They make flange extenders but not for raising the flange a foot. The only way I know to extend the up for a foot is to remove the existing flange, take the floor up from around the pipe and use a NO-Hub Coupling,(see image) to connect the new raiser. Sorry I couldn't give you a "magic fix" but that's about the only solution I can come up with. Good luck, Tom

Is you old sewer pipe in the concrete cast or PVC? Do I understand you correctly, you are raising the floor 12" to get some new non-toilet drain lines into the bath?

I don't know about the flange, I haven't pulled the toilet yet. As for the floor, my plan was to raise it 12" to allow enough fall to tie a new shower into an exposed drain line in an adjacent room. Now that I'm sure I've got to rent a jackhammer, though, I will probably just bust-out enough concrete to tie-into the toilet line near the shower. What do you think?

That's what I would do. Platforming a entire floor up a foot is a major job. I think it will be easier and less hassle to trench the slab rather then to platform it. Good luck in whatever you decide. Tom

Yes, I would agree, just jack hammer it and do it under the concrete. Do you know the depth of the pipe you need to tie into, will you get enough fall from your shower drain trap?
