    Small Red Itchy Bumps
    <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v633/CreatedToBurn/Medical/P3230002.jpg">

    So I've been having these small red bump mostly around my torso and buttocks area and they've been there now for at least a week and they're very itchy and annoying. Only some of them hurt when I scratch it, mostly the ones I scratch a lot. I have no animals, I haven't taken any kind of medicine or anything different in a while. I'm not sure what this is and I wanted to check on here before waiting 2 weeks to see a Dermatologist.

    My girlfriend also sleeps next to me and she has very small tiny bumps you can feel and barely see that she's been itching a lot too. So any help is appreciated!

    Have you ever had chickenpox? Are you under a lot of stress recently?

    I had Chicken Pox a long time ago when I was a kid. And I haven't really been under any stress. Been pretty normal. And this is the first time in my life (that I remember) that I've had something like this.

    Looks like a bug bit of sorts, or possibly an allergy. Have you changed detergents or soaps recently?

    Not really no, I've been using the same Laundry Soap for years, and never once has ever using different body soap ever affected me. My guess is a bug bite of some sort too but I don't really know. I see nothing on my bed, but I think I might wash my sheets and everything today and vacume my whole room just in case.

    Careful when you think anything is a bug bite. I work in the lab at a hospital and 90% of bumps patients call "bug bites" or "spider bites" end up being a staph infection. But don't be alarmed, it's fairly common. If the bumps start to ache or come to a head, or continue to spread, you'll need to see an MD and have them do a culture (a swab) on the pus that is in the bumps. Sometimes they will make a small cut to get some of the fluid out. If this is the case, a specific antibiotic may be needed.

    Remember to see a different doctor if these "bumps" don't go away. Especially on your buttocks region, they'll appear there from toilet seats - I've seen it a hundred time!

    I hope this was helpful to you.

    Hmm I don't know, I read about the Staph infection thing, and also googled some images. It sounds like what I have, except the pictures on Google look nothing at all like what I have,

    They'll start looking like pimples, like your bumps in the picture. You'll think to yourself, "Why do I have zits on my butt and back??" I've actually had a MRSA infection that started very much like this. But if they get painful to touch or to sit down and spread you should see a doctor. I mean, see a good doctor/dermatologist anyway. And tell your girlfriend to do the same. It could just be strange little bug bites or a rash (dermatitis) but if it's bothering you just go see the Doc!

    Well it seems like its starting to go away... but I'm not totally sure. At least my upper body it looks like it is. I think maybe if it gets worse I'll just go to a Dermatologist...
