    Toilet flush
It's a gerber floor mounted with sloan valve and 1.6 gallons of water consumption. I have an 8'' rough in. The old toilet had a top spud and this new one has a back spud. From the old valve, I only added an extension of about 6'' pipe to connect to the back spud. When I flush, it seems like 4-5 times of water is coming out before it stops. I hope this helps. Thanks.

    Hey Prospects9:

Try shutting off the sloan valve complete to start. Then open just a bit... then flush. What happens? If too little flow, then increase with slight turn to screw... until you achieve the flow/flush you desire.

If volume control does not make a difference, then try removing the diaphragm from the unit and wash it under water to try to clear the bypass hole (see picture) of any debris that may be stuck in it. Here, shut water off and remove chrome cover (twist ccw), then remove plastic cover, and then pull up the entire diaphragm assembly (see pic.3). Wash the diaphragm assembly under water and use pin to push trough the bypass hole to unclog if necessary. The diaphragm has a tiny, little brass bypass hole.. hard to see in pic... but a plugged bypass hole causes issues you are describing... if that does not work then will need to replace that diaphragm (twist off top part (molded disc) of diaphagm assembly to get diaphragm clear of the assembly... see pic.2)

Hope that fixes it for you! Let us know... Mark

This is not a question, but a thank you to massplumber2008. The cleaning of the diaphragm did the job. I could not find the rating, but you got 100% and a thank you from me.

Always nice to see a thank you post afterwards! That's the spirit!
