I did a Google search for those lyrics and got basically nothing.

Do you know if it's a band or a solo artist? Male or female? Was it on the radio recently?

Here is my first guess Weezer "Island in the Sun."

I'm thinking it's a band, the lead singer is a big guy that always wears a hat and plays the harmonica. I can picture them but can't think of their name. Its an older song like from when Hootie and the Blowfish were around.

The song "All Apologies" by Nirvana says "in the sun" a lot, as well as "on and on" especially at the end. It keeps saying "on and on is all we are", "on and on is all we are", repeat... repeat... for what seems like forever...
