    Non Irritant Hair Colour?
My 82 year old mother insists on having her hair tinted and hates being grey. The problem

Is she gets a reaction from the home colourants of an itchey red scalp. We have bought a

Product from a health store, the name escapes me, but the instructions on the box say

"do not use if scalp irritated" so have not even given it a try.

Does anyone know of a gentle tint that I can try?

She is allergic to some metals and can only wear 24ct gold and silver, if that is any help.

    Thanks

Some hair dyes use an ingredient called para-phenylenediamine (PPD) which can cause allergies such as redness, itchiness or rashes. Other ingredients in hair dyes that can cause allergies are called 6-hydroxyindole, Isatin and p-Methylaminophenol. Use a PPD-free or peroxide and ammonia-free hair dye. Be sure to do a patch test for allergic reactions before coloring her hair. Apply a small drop of the dye on your mom's inner elbow or behind her ear. Allow it to dry for 48 hours. If she doesn't experience in any redness or irritation, then you can color her hair.
