    Ceiling fan wiring
Bought a new ceiling fan. Instructions from Harbor Breeze says I have white, black, and green. However, I also have red coming from the house. Tried all different matches with nothing but blown fuses. HELP. Thanks.

White to white, ground(green) to ground, and red to black.
If circuit blows, disconnect red from black at ceiling and reset breaker, if it doesn't blow now, then fan wire may be pinched or shorted to ground. Or defecetive Fan.

You need to connect the white wire with the white wire, the black wire with the black wire, the green wire is a ground it needs to be connected to a ground cooper wire only that is connected to the conjunction box. The red wire is a wire that goes to a blue wire which is for the fan light kit. It does not go to the red it will blow a fuse

He only has a black, white, and a ground. He can only blow a fuse if the black touches white, green or there is a short in fan.

Your house may have extra wire for a fan light combo, mine did. The other end of that red wire may not be hooked up in switch box on wall. It may be shorting out in box, try leaving it unconnected at the fan.

How many wires come from your fan? Is it a remote fan? See:

Cap the red wire and wire as per labowners #3 post -- should work
