For the past 2 years I have been on Cymbalta, which has worked very well for me. However, I recently moved to a new town. Due to extenuating circumstances, I am currently without a vehicle. Due to this I had to cancel my last Dr. appointment. When I called to reschedule, I was told that I could not get in to see the Dr. for another months. I asked about a refill, but was told that he would not give me a refill until physically saw him.

Now I am out of Cymbalta and am not able to get a refill for another three weeks. I am already experiencing a lot of withdrawl symptoms, two days later. From what I have read, it is only going to get worse.

What can I do. I'm afraid I'll become suicidal again. How can the Dr. allow this to happen? Are Dr. not fully educated about the severe withdrawl symptoms that occure with Cymbalta? I have read that the makers of Cymbalta have not been so forthcoming with the severe side effects caused by sudden withdrawl from this medication.

Your input would be greatly appreciated.

If it gets too bad go to the ER
I had to go to the ER when I was withdrawing from Paxil
They gave me xanax to counteract it.

Maybe you should switch doctors too

Show up at the office during office hours, state your problem and ask to see the physician for a few minutes. He/she can probably fit you in.

Sadly, medicare patients do not get the same treatment that others do. I have tried that, but was told NO. Can you belief that? I have moved in to health care hell. Here in Albany GA.

I had such a bad experience with the local hospital, twice, that at this point I am talking to an attorney about sueing. I was told I had a good case. (But that's another story.) All the local Dr. are tied in to the hospital system. The average wait time at the local ER, unless you come in by ambulance is (no kidding) 8-10 hours. All other doctors are booked solid, no matter what.

I'm about ready to pull my hair out. I truly fear the upcoming days of withdrawl symptoms. I just can't believe that this is happening.

Maybe to ease withdrawal you could try taking St. Johns Wort and 5 HTP. You can try drinking chamomile tea or passionflower tea at bedtime too.
You can not take them while taking your meds but since you seem to have no alternative it could possibly be a good alternative.

Thank You SO much for those suggestions. I will try that out, as I am a big believer in good old fashioned home remedies. :)
