    Am I pregnant?
I'm 16 and this wasn't my first time with him so you.. . I had sex with my boyfriend around the 3rd or 4th of march. Around the 13th or 14th I saw pinkish spotting, and I've never had spottong before my period. I started my period on the 19th but and it's lighter then usual. Was the spotting just my period or what?

Spotting can occur before your period regardless if it has happened to you before or not. You are very young (I won't lecture about having sex at that age) but your period will change over the years.

So spotting before your period is normal. Even having a lighter or heavier period is normal as well.

No protection is 100% effective in preventing pregnancy... so whether you used protection or not really won't tell you much either.

You can do one of two things...

Take a pregnancy test at home or schedule one with your doctor or a local Planned Parenthood clinic.
Or wait until you are due next month and see if your period comes.

I would suggest setting an appt to be test for pregnancy along with STD's as the rate of STD exposure is very high for your age group.

Same here.. but if someone had never had spotting.. wouldnt it be a little weird if it started now especislly if someone has always had a very heavy period

    Not "weird"...

You are 16... again, your periods are going to change a lot. Sometimes they will be heavy, sometimes they may be lighter. Sometime you may spot, sometime you won't. When I was your age I was even able to control my periods. If I started to spot I could do an intense workout and I wouldn't even get my period.

Many many things can affect your cycle. Stress is a big one. Stress can cause your period to be late or you could miss it altogether one month.

That fact that you both are having sex is what throws a curve ball. Of course, if you are having sex there is always a chance you could be pregnant. Even if you had a "normal" period, you could be pregnant.
