Assuming you are talking about the stimulus payments (or rebates) - they will be based on your 2007 tax filing, not 2006. If you have income of at least $3K that was either social security of earned income, you can get a rebate. But you must file a 2007 tax return. The IRS suggests you file form 1040A, even though you may not owe any taxes. See the following for details:
