How hard is it for the father of a child to get custody
(Question moved from Introductions to more appropriate topic area in order to get the most exposure to those who are best able to answer the question.)
It was surprisingly easy for my daughters bio father to disrupt my life and acquire parental rights. It takes lots of money and be prepared to pay back child support. It seems that most courts are in favor of a 50/50 visitation schedule.
(I am the father of a little girl that I learned a few months after she was born that she was not my daughter at all... I chose to raise her anyway but he was able to take me off the birth certificate and assume parental rights)
This depends on where you are, the circumstances involved and the level of custody. But most courts will allow the father to be involved in his child's life unless he represents a danger to the child.Quote:

Its commendable that you chose to raise her despite not being yours, but your ire should be directed at the mother for her infidelity and lies. Not at the father who wants to be a part of his child's life or at the courts and laws that affirm those rights.Quote:
