    Paying off credit card
Realistically, If you owe a credit card company around $25,000.00 - how much are
They going to settle for if you want to pay off the account. Also will a reduction of
The debt reflect negatively on your credit score. Thank you

How old is the debt ? How many months or years has it been since you have not paid anything on the account.

If it has been 3 to 6 months abut a 10 or 15 percent discount
It it has been three years most likely about 1/2. If it is over the statue of limiaton, most likely about 10 cents on the dollar.

Now many factors if you have a good job and they know it, and if you live in a state that allows for wage garnishment, they may not be as likely to settle. If you have little income, they can't garnish in your state, most likely less.

And some just won't deal, ( who knows)

The account that I owe the $25,000.00 was MBNA which is now Bank of America.
I have been a member since 1991 and except for being late a few times have always
Paid at least the minimum. I did however miss one month a while back and have been
Paying 24.99% for a while. I called and they just reduced the rate to 20.99%.
I will shortly come into a small inheritance from an Aunt and am willing to pay off this card completely. I am 68 years old and I work as an assistant manager t a fast food
Restaurant about 30 - 35 hours a week for about $10 an hour. My only other income
Is my social security monthly check. I do not want to have my credit score impacted
Negatively if they settle for less than the full amount. Any suggestions - thank you
