Lighting ideas for pine cathedral ceiling?
    Hello all,

I'm looking for some ideas for lighting my LR+kitchen. It's a room about 25ft x 16ft, completely 'open plan' with a cathedral (or vaulted) ceiling. The peak is up about 20 feet. There's a 2nd floor loft above and to the rear.

We're redoing the ceiling in pine. I'm trying to avoid cans in the ceiling, or any hanging fixtures. Ideally I'd like to have something that washes upward from the sides where the wall and ceiling meet (in a cove?). Problem is that it will all be visible from the loft above, and bare fluorescent fixtures would be pretty ugly.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Cheers,
    Roy

I've seen track lighting used a lot in these instances. On such a tall ceiling you'll want to use halogen PAR bulbs, rather than type R.
