Wanting to take get my master's in history
I'm looking to get my master's in history... currently I'm a teacher with an education degree but my love is history... however I just don't want to teach so I was wondering if anyone knows what all options I would have and is it worth it financially because I could get my master's in administration and become a principal and make good money but it's just not what I really want to do...

Knowledge is never a bad thing, but "worth it" if it will not help you get a higher position in your professional, I can not see a cost justification.

To the good teachers I know their profession is their advocation . Personally I don't think financial reward should be your concern because there is more money in the private sector ;and I have seen situations where a Masters Degree is a detriment because of union mandated pay scales and district budget restrictions . It is just cheaper for them to hire the new teacher with a Batchelor's degree right out of college. To me that is an indictment on the overall education system but that is a different discussion.

If your passion is teaching history then go for it.

If you love history, I would recommend a Masters in Public History... that way you can focus on Historical Preservation and the like. :) Good luck!
