Stayed Less than 183 days in NJ on L1
I stayed for less than 183 days in NJ on L1.

I was in us from mid may 2007 till mid oct 2007. Presently I am in India.

Do I need to file 1040 or 1040 NR?

Will I be a part resident or Non-Resident for NJ?

What is 1040 NR-EZ? Do I need to file it also?

Thanks in advance for your Advice.

You need to file Form 1040NR on the federal level and as a part-year resident for New Jersey.

The reason you want to file Form 1040NR is so you can claim your daily living expenses on the Schedule A that is part of the Form 1040NR.

PM or email me if you need help doing this, as I specialize in doing tax returns for overseas clients.
