There was a movie when I was young, so I'm going to say in the 80s... it was about a possessed house, the house kind of 'breathed' and there was a rope/chain something at the gate and when someone tried to leave it 'grabbed' them... I was probably about 10or 12, and I don't remember much else about the movie... thanks for your help!
