Ranch king with a 16.5hp briggs and stratton
Hi.the problem I am having is that my riding lawn mower starts but it doesn't run smoothly, what I mean if I want to idle my motor will kill on me,unless I have the choke on.I think I had some bad gas last year and now this spring I have drained the gas, changed the fuel filter and changed the oil and it still runs the same.I am thinking that I have to take the carb or bowl off to see if there is any dirt inside of it?what do you think? And not sure on how to do this,is it easy or hard to get at.I started to worked on it today but wasn't sure what I was doing? Do you have any ideas for me and how to do this myself? Thanks for your help.

If there is a fuel solenoid on the bottom side of the carb bowl, you may have to grind down a wrench to make it skinny enough to fit in between the solenoid and bowl. Other wise you will have a bolt that you loosen and the bowl may "stick" to the carb. If it does slightly tap on it with your hand to break it loose. Be careful and have a new gasket on hand.
