Oxycotin - How long are Withdrawals from quiting cold?
    Hello,
Im 38, and have been on Oxycotin for just over a year 3x20mg, plus Oxycodone 4-6 5mg for breakthrough pain. I have just started going to a pain specialist to help me get off the narcotics. My DR. gave me a weaning program to follow, but as the dose gets lower and lower every 4 days I still end up taking what more then I should. Well, he did tell me to follow it and of course I didn't. I am so addicted to these things now, Im sure I don't need them for pain anymore, it's all in my head. Well, Ive been out for 2 days now... Not even 5 minutes of sleep. I can't explaine how this feels, I know a lot of people out there have gone through this. How long will I have these withdrawals? I have an appointment with my pain DR. in 4 days to get more pills to keep working down so its not so tough. Buy if I can make it 6 days without anything, do I want to even start taking them to help with withdrawl symptoms? Im sure it is a no. But if I will have these feelings for weeks, I will be very tempted! Any help would be greatly appreciated...

The first week is the hardest, but it will be a day by day issue for several weeks,

If you can make it though 6 days, I would say you have it beat for the worst part of it.

Its like any addiction, do as the doctor has prescibed, and worry about one day at a time. You may need support, to help get through that one day, so a trusted friend can help.
