I read this book when I was younger about a boy who couldn't or wouldn't speak, something happened to him, and if he speaks he thinks something else bad will happen, so he never even shows emotion at all. But then he meets this girl at school, and she falls in love with him, and they kiss and so he thinks that something bad is going to happen to him.
I think its called alien among us or something to do with an alien.
