    Driveway Work
    Hi
I have a rather long driveway (approx 600 ft) that was blacktopped when the house was built in 2002.

There are quite a few "alligator" spots and a couple of very small holes in it. I am also noticing some weeds starting to come up at a few places as well.

Someone told me to have it resurfaced with blacktop. What do you think I should do? And what kind of money would a job like this run me. It is 10' wide.

I read someone else's post on here and they sound like they are considering the same kind of job, but he said his driveway was 21 years old. Is it too soon for me to consider this type of job?

    Thanks.

How many times have you sealed itsince it was built, using the black tar like material. This should be done every few to couple of years.

You can buy patching material for larger cracks and coating material that is brushed on. ( with large broom) Most of this material is available at local home repair stores.

I would agree that sealing the drive would help it last longer. Spot repairs are need if you actually loose chucks of asplhat. 600' is a bit long for most folks to do themselves but you can be the judge of that. Personally, I'd get a few estimates and then play golf.
