    Case Register against cheque bounce
    I got a refund cheque from a builder "Vian Infrastructure Limited" for the date of 26-Feb-08 but the same is got bounced. What should I do to get my money back. How I register a case against the builder.

    Hello Raj:

    Hopefully you've got a small claims court in your jurisdiction. If so, sue him there.

    In addition, in your jurisdiction bouncing a check might also be a crime. If so, it might be easier to collect if you called the cops.

    First how large is the check ?

    Have you talked to them and asked them about making it good first ?

    You have a couple of ways to go, first you can sue in civil court or you can try and press criminal charges. You should contact the local DA for their rules on filing a criminal charge ( rules on how vary by area)
