Benefits whilst on a USA L1 and L2 Visa.
Hi, I am living in USA with my wife as resident aliens on a L1 visa (Myself) L2 visa (my wife).

My question is this. Do you know if we can claim any type of benefits for the fact that we have a child and my wife hasn't worked other than the benefits which we received through the IRS tax return?

In the UK we would have been able to claim child benefit for example.

    Thanks Ian

I'm assuming that you have been here long enough to be a resident. In that case, you receive an exemption amount for yourself, your spouse and each child. You also receive a child tax credit for each child under 17, although this is phased out for high income levels.
