Hi could you please help me with this transformation because I don't quite understand it.

The graph of the function with rule y=1/x is transformed as follows:
- a dilation by a factor of 1/2 from the y-axis
- a relfection in the y-axis

I don't understand these parts, everything else I all right

First, graph the function to see what it looks like. Then you know how the corresponding reflection or dilation should look.

Based on the shape of the function you should realize that a reflection in the y-axis is exactly the same as a reflection in the x-axis for this funcction. You should know how to do a reflection in the x-axis.

Next, a dilation works the opposite of a stretch. Figure out how to stretch the curve by a factor of 2 and then just do the opposite to get the desired dilation.
