Tax rebate - Spouse without SSN
I cannot get a tax rebate since my spouse does not have an SSN because of her immigration status (H4) (does have an ITIN though). Will filing return under “married filing separately” make me eligible to get this rebate? Will the overall taxes owed with “married filing separately” plus tax rebate less or more compared to “married filing jointly” and without rebate? Note that I will only be getting the standard deductions for myself and family (spouse + 1 child) as my itemized deductions turned out to be less that standard deductions anyway.

    Thanks!

You would be eligible to receive a payment if you file separately. Your wife can not receive a payment since she has no SS no. and if you file jointly neither of you would get a payment. To see how the various scenarios work out you should figure your taxes both as MFJ and MFS and see how they turn out.
