    Invisalign aligners vs clear retainers
What's exactly the difference between the two?

Aligners put teeth into place (like braces), retainers hold their position after they've been moved orthodontically.

Well, I've had braces in my teens and still have the retainers which I used afterwards for a few months but my cousin just had Invisalign and they looked practically the same. She's now gutted to have spent nearly £5000 to have it done here in the UK.

They look the same but have different purposes.

With invisalign you have different trays every 2 weeks to make your teeth straight but they take years to do.

With retainers they are just a mould of your straight teeth to hold them in position and you wear them at night.
