I have a sharp aquos TV, a panasonic dvd recorder/vcr combo drive and a comcast digital receiver. I want to be able to record on the dvd player from the dvr on the digital receiver.

I would hope that the cable company has a free hookup service, have you talked to them?

Most likely your Cable settop box has multiple outputs. So you can run cable from one of the outputs into a compatible input on the recorder. Then record what you play from the DVR. Its also possible that you might be able to do a direct recording. My ScientificAtlanta DVR settop box gives me the option to send a DVR recording to a VCR. I haven't tried it yet, but see if you have the same option.
