I am installing outside lights that have sensors on them but they donot seem to work as per the instructions. They have three wires- white, red and black. Could you tell me how to hook them up proberly so the sensers turn the lights on and off as they should??

Try connecting the red, black to the black in the box (power) and the white to white, good luck and make sure the power is off before connecting. Also, if it is a motion sensor it is also heat activated so make sure there is no heat exhaust near by such as a gas fireplace exhaust.

Do you have the installation instructions -- most instructions here have 3 wires

Black is hot to light -- white is neutral -- green is ground ---- all whites tie together

The RED WIRE is switched leg and connects to black on light fixtures

Then there are some controls to adjust the operation of the sensor

Installation tip: I do not like the light pattern where lights are on the base with MoTiOn SeNsOR

What I suggest is installing sensor where old light was -- usually in center of house -- then mount

Lights about ten foot in each direction from sensor -- really improves the light pattern that way
