    Ceiling fan remote
I have a "Harbor Breeze" ceiling fan. Recently I noticed the remote "red dot" light came on and stayed on, this light usually came on when a function button was pressed. I thought this meant that the battery was low so I changed it. The red light came back on immediately, and the remote would not control the fan. The model # on the remote is UC7080T. Does anyone know if the remote is bad or not? Also, where can I purchase this remote if I need a new one?

The button may be stuck ON. Dissassembly and cleaning may fix.
Try getting near fan, momentarily touch battery connection, then again, see what affect you have.

Strat is correct. It sounds like you have a stuck button.

What do I disassemble and, how and what do I clean? Momentarily touch battery connection with what?

Disassemble the remote, sometimes the little rubber buttons can be removed.

Remove the battery and momentarily connect it as though you were to reattach it.

You would be mementarily connect battery to see if it reacts. If all else Home Depot, or Ebay, Ceilingfan may provide source. Good Luck

I just called the harbor breeze company and gave them the same model number and they told me that it is not their remote. Funny thing is, it came out of their box and has their logo on it.

Our remote will not control the ceiling fan/light. The button lights up but nothing happens when I push the controls. I took it apart and changed the battery but no result. Help?
