Co-signed lease that was dated wrong by land lord
I entered into a co-signed lease for 1 year in Nov of 2007 - but on the lease agreement it says from Nov 2007 - Oct 2007 (not 2008)

The guy I co-signed the apartment for lost his job, and is trashing the place and I need to get out from under this asap. Do you think the mis-dating of the lease agreement might be a loop hole out?

    Thanks

It would be a hard pressed issue to win in court over.

Seriously, I'm sure somewhere else in the least it spells out the term in months, it may even indicate the dollar amount total for the entire lease period. Unless that single date is the only place in the lease that indicates the term, I doubt that any judge would find in your favor.

I hope you are bigger than your friend? Sounds like he needs an attitude adjustment!

I would think if you moved in with the error you are going to have to live with it - the time to correct the "loop hole" was then.

No, I doubt this will make a difference, that the court will accept. Now if this person is tearing the place up, report it to the landlord, and see about getting him evicted by the landlord. And/or if it is physcial damage that you are responsible for, call the police for a report of the damage.
