    Whose fingerprints and mugshot? Yours?
Who has them now and why are you looking to get them returned?

I believe the state has them and an attorney needs them.

Then the attorney needs to call the state to request them.

Want some 8 X 10 glossy perhaps to pass out to friends.

First no, you are not going to get the orginals back. You may, if your attorney has a real need, get them by making a motion in your court case for discovery of evidence in the case they are needed for.

Also how were you fingerprinted, most major departments do it electronicly now, you hold your hands over a screen and it reads your prints, it will even run the NCIC within a few minutes. They will print out a card for local use, save it in their system, and it automatically sends to the FBI.

But mug shot is also on file, and normally also on file with your criminal records.

so if there is a need for copies, your attorney will know how to get them.
*** If you have a criminal attorney and they don't know how, change attorneys would be my opinon.

You don't get them back as the police need them in case you do something "wrong" again and can easily identify you. Did you think you get them back after they are through with them? Nope.

    Are you making a scrapbook?

As far as I know you can't get them back. Fingerprints and mug shots are a handy tool in catching repeat offenders. It's also a great way to deter criminals from committing another crime.

I'm pretty sure he wants a copy, not the originals.
