In one of my tubs, when you turn the handle from cold to hot, the water cuts off. What causes this and is it an easy fix?

This happens once inawhile when the mixing valve cartridge assembly gets something stuck in it (debris, old solder, etc.) or the cartridge simply fails.

Get us the name of the valve (or shower head) if you can... tell us how old... we may be able to help you remove/replace the cartridge yourself. If no name, then post a picture under go advanced feature at posting spot or at least give a good description of the valve, including handle and we will see what we can do.. ok?

Can also visit some of the more popular websites for MOEN (MOEN Kitchen Faucets, Bathroom Faucets and Bathroom Showers) or symmons (Symmons&reg Quality Runs In Our Family) or even american standard or kohler websites and see if you find anything that looks like your valve.
