    Taking away parental rights
My ex-husband has been in and out of prison. He has drug charges and domestic violence charges against him already. Right now he is under investigation for child molestation against a 5 year old girl. If he gets this charge can I take away his rights without him signing them over to me? I have been told by his family no, since he never hurt our son. I have been told by many others yes I can.

If he is convicted of child molestation, you should consult with an attorney to get protective orders for your child, and possibly get his rights taken away. A person who is a child predator has no place in a child's life, I feel.

    Tabilong,
I know this man seems like a terrible influence in your son's life, and I can completely understand why you would want him gone.
But try to remember that it is his son too. How does he feel about your son?
If he is convicted of child molestation, you might be able to keep him away, I don't know where your from, so don't know the legal system.
But is this necessary? Would he ever harm the boy?

My uncle was convicted of paedophilia when I was a young child. He also has a lot of social and anger problems. But he never touched me, never harmed me, rarely even told me off or yelled at me.
I read the case reports from his trial... and they made me physically sick. But in spite of that, he's still my uncle. I think he's a terrible person. I don't even like him. But I still love him.
Family is important. His son might be one of the few good and pure things left in his life. Think very hard before taking that away from him.

Would you really be trying to protect your son? Or are you just doing this to make your own life easier?

    Kal
