    Tongue Piercing
Hi, I am 16 years old, and i want to get my tongue pierced. I have been asking alot of people how bad it hurt, and they just say "no piercing it doesnt, but the after care and swelling does." Honestly, Im not worried about the aftercare, but i am extremely afraid of needles, so the actual piercing is what im worried about. I've heard that the clamps hurt, and ive also heard that the needle is worse.

i know that i am going to get mine right when school gets out (june 19) and then im going on a road trip with some friends so my parents wont see me on the aftercare stage.
(my parents are against all piercings besides ears. i got my belly button done, and they havent seen it yet!)

FOR ALL PEOPLE WHO ARE AFRAID OF NEEDLES AND GOT THERE TONGUE DONE,
PLEASE TELL ME ABOUT THE PAIN OF THE ACTUAL PIERCING.
ONE A SCALE OF __ to __ , tongue is __ (tell me your scale, and what you believe it is)

this is going to help me a lot, so i can "prepare" myself.

Is the pinch enough to make you want to pull your tongue back?
Because I'm also worried that it'll make me pull back, and it would hurt from that...

On a scale of 1 - 10, the tongue piercing was a 1 for me. I have a very high tolerance for pain so piercings do not hurt me. Keep in mind that whether it will hurt or not depends on your pain tolerance.

I have gotten mine done with the clamp, and without the clamp (I've had my tongue pierced 3 times total). I actually preferred it without the clamp. It was a lot more comfortable. With the clamp is not bad, its just that in my opinion you feel too "restricted" with the clamp. You may want to check into not using it.

If you are afraid of the needle, don't look at it. For most people with the same fear, if they look at the needle, the deal is off and they won't get the piercing. When it gets to the point where they have to put the needle in your line of sight to pierce your tongue, close your eyes. It is over within seconds.

You should do fine. Just make sure you eat a well balanced meal before you get the piercing. This will cut down on "butterflies" in your tummy, and will also cut down on any lightheadedness you may feel.

    Good luck! :)
