    Property Taxes
My sole income is from social security disability - I own a home and pay property taxes. I have been told for the past 6 years that I have owned and lived on the property that I cannot claim this or receive a tax refund. Why is this? Why am I paying taxes if I can't get a tax refund?

Welcome to AMHD. I am not understanding your question: a refund from property tax or a refund from the federal government? Did you file a federal tax return for either 2007 or 2006?

You receive a refund form the IRS on income taxes you pay in. You did not get a refund from property tax, these are not related taxes and have nothing to do with each other. To get a refund you first have to file your yearly income taxes and qualify accourding to the deductions you have.
