The pump in the house has been off for at least 3 yrs when started up the fuse in the circuit box glows red and pump won't start the heat has been off in this house for awhile could the pump be frozen its winter here in Michigan.:(

If the pump was not drained and winterized then chances are the impeller cage has froze preventing the impeller from turning. Make sure the housing isn't cracked before you operate the pump. Good luck, Tom
That really concerns me. I've never heard of a fuse getting hot enough to glow red. Perhaps you should have someone look at the fuse box.Quote:

Any possibility of opening the pump. Could be seized up from rust. What concerns me is that fuse. Any of your other fuses glow.
I have never heard of a fuse glowing red hot. I would replace the fuse before I did anything else.
