    Red knuckles and knees
My daughter was about 6 months along when she began complaining about a rash on her hands and knees. It appeared as if blood vessels on her hands had ruptured but only at the joints and her knees were so red they were almost purple. She said it was painful.

She went into labor in her 7th month and the baby was stillborn. The baby's skin was very red with only his little nose, finger tips and feet unaffected. The baby is being tested to determine cause of death.

Her OBGYN said her liver had elevated enzyme levels but further tests were normal. She visited her GP who tested her blood with the same results. A dermatologist chalked her symptoms up to stress.

What could cause these symptoms in her and the baby?
Has anyone heard of such a thing?

    I have heard of it.
I think it is something to do with hemolysis or preeclampsia

Here is a site that has a little bit about it

    High-risk Pregnancy

I don't know what can be done to prevent the problem if she gets pregnant again.
If I run across something I will add it

What is your daughter's blood type? Is it + or - ?
