    She needs to loose weight!
Hey.. my friend is 15 and she weighs 138lbs.she is overweight. Her thighs and hips are fine but she has fat on her stomach, lower abdomen and her chest are saggy. She is very conscious about her weight but she can't resist eating.she eats two meals a day and lots of junk food. Now she has planned to wrkout twice a day at home which is a 90 minutes workout.does she need to cut down her meals?is green tea helpful?is there any other way she can loose weight?

I highly doubt 138 is considered overweight. Walking to classes, gym class, and walking in the evening should be fine. Eating breakfast, school lunch, and staying away from vending machines is the best bet.

    How tall is your friend?

If she was 5'5, 138lbs would be healthy.

If she were 5'0, I would say that she may be at risk.

Google 'weight to height ratio' and you will get tons of sites that will help you figure out if she is at the right weight.

Even if she was 5'0", she would merely only have to lose 15 pounds to have a normal BMI. That's hardly considered "at risk."

Umm she is 5'2"... she seems overweight because she has a lot of fat on her stomach.

Of course there are ways to lose weight ecspecially at that age. She will be able to burn off fat quicker because she is young.

    Here is some advice:

1.)Excersize at least 3 times a week (walking, jogging, fitness club) Doing sit ups will definintely help tone her stomach and lose that fat
2.) Eat lots and lots of fruits and veggies! Less starches such as potatoes, pasta, corn...

If she is able to maintain a schedule that includes working out and eating healthy then I garuntee she will lose weight fast.

I think she's borderline for normal BMI. She should be eating 3 healthy meals a day with a small, nutritious snack. She should he working out regularly anyway just because its healthy. As long as she eats healthy meals and snacks she'll be fine. The junk food snacks are probably the problem. She needs to cut them out of her daily diet.

The working out is a good idea. Also replacing the junk food with fresh fruits and vegetables will work wonders. Other than that it doesn't sound like she needs to make a lot of major changes.

According to the BMI she only needs to lose 5-10 pounds. Some people carry weight differently, such as in their stomachs. When I was 110 pounds I had a belly on me. Maybe your friend could try some crunches and other stomach exercises.
