Tax filing for F1-OPT/H1 fro 2006-2007
    Hi,
I am an International student. I have completed my masters starting from September '03 to September'06. My OPT is from 25th Aug ' 06 - 24th Aug '07 since then I have been on H1. So in 2007 I was on OPT till 24th August 2007. So I should be exempted from the SS and Medicare Taxes until that period?
Also I have paid for my H1 fees which was 2500 + 1000. Will that be used for any deduction for filing the tax returns.
    Regards,
    Priyank

Yes, you are exempt from Social Security and Medicare taxes while you were on the F-1 visa.

No, the H-1 fees are NOT deductible.
