With the flange spacer in place you are OK if the top surface of the spacer is within 1/4" of the floor surface. Beyond that you can add another spacer but we will need to shun you at the next plumbers ball. An oversized wax ring should also be used. By the way, is the old flange stil properly secured to the old sub floor?
