    Uninstalling a shower drain.
We are trying to figure out how to uninstall  a shower drain and disconnect the water lines so that we can pull the shower away from the wall to insulate it. Then after insulating the wall we want to put the shower back and install everything back to working order. Never taken a shower drain off before... need advice.

    Hey Pooh,

Before I can answer I need more details. Is the pipe the shower drain connects to, Cast Iron or Plastic? Cast iron joints can be melted or chiseled out but plastic joints must be cut out. Question? Why remove the shower at all? Why not figure out a way to blow insulation behind the shower enclosure?
    Just wondering. Tom
