Open neutral on gfci and 1 other outlet
I have a GFCI outlet that wires to another outlet and both outlets have stopped working and I'm getting an open neutral indication at both oulets. The outlets are on the same circuit as a double wall switch one of which is a 2 way(turn off or on from different locations). The switches work fine at both locations. They worked fine until I plugged roof heat tape into one of them. The GFCI tripped a couple of times in the last few weeks, but resetting it fixed the problem temporarilly. I have nothing plugged into the outlets but am still getting the open neutral indication. Any ideas?

Check the white wire on the line side of the GFI. Also Trip/reset GFI.

Thanks... I was trying to do this without very good lighting last night and was measuring the hot input with the neutral output. Today, when I could see, I had good voltage at the input of the GFCI but nothing on the output. Replaced the GFCI unit and all is well.
