Tax refund <180 days in US, NR alien
    Hi

I am filing as Non-resident alient from India, and worked on L1 visa for 98 days in 2007 in US. My employer with-held $4300 as federal tax, #1400 as Socaial security tax and $630 as medicare tax.

Would I be eligible for full refund of all my taxes? If so which form should I submit and how to get the refunds

    Thanks - V

You will get most if not all of the federal INCOME taxes back, because you can claim daily living expenses as a deduction using Form 2106 and Schedule A of the Form 1040NR.

The Social Security and Medicare taxes are NOT refundable.

I am not sure what "daily living expenses" are. If ATE meant traveling away from home expenses, then I disagree that they would be deductible. Whencool was located at his tax home and was not away from home.
