    All my earths [ grounds] are down ,in the ring main . Can you give some cause's

    Is "In the Ring" like "out of The LOOP?
    What is "In the ring main?

    Hi stratmando, sorry I'm was'nt clear . Ring main in u.k , I think you call it a loop u.s.a. anyway all sockets have power , but no earth [ground ]

    I like to learn, thanks. That ground wire should go back to some Earth ground at the panel or meter, and could be disconnected or missing. We don't call it a loop. The hot and neutral could be considered a loop(circuit).
    In telephone Systems over here They have a "ground start", and a "Loop Start".
    When you pick up the Phone it completes a loop, then you get dial tone.
    Pay Phones are Usually Ground Start, Unless changed in the last 10-20 years.

    T-shirt weather. Cowboys been cuttin' Telegraph wire and cable for years, You can't stop them.
