Darft Inducer Blower - Heil DC90
My gas furnace worked fine until a day or so ago. Everything works OK during furnace startup, but the draft inducer motor does not turn off until the call for heat is over. The draft inducer motor shuts down the same time as the burners shut down.

Is this normal? Isn't the inducer motor suppose to stop after a short run? What would be the problem - the blower, the pressure valve or the circuit board. ANy helpful suggestions?

    Thanks

The draft inducer is supposed to run when the flames are on so as to provide a draft for venting. Sounds normal to me.

You are probably right. The last few days when the furnace is running, it seems to make more noises. Most of the new noise is from this little draft inducer blower. I don't know how much noise normally comes from this blower. The only sound I normally hear is that from the main blower.

Maybe something in the blower assembly (motor, fan, etc.) is going out? The motor did not seem too hot, but there might be more vibration than normal. The motor is 115v, 2.3A and 3400RPM. Seems to spin smoothly after the motor shuts down. But noisy when running. Any tricks to checking this out?

Not really any tricks. When it goes just replace the entire assemble not just the motor.
