Is my ankle bruised or not?
OK, let me get the embarrassing bit over first... about 1 and a half months ago I fell in a ditch because I was laughing at my friend so much (she was being stupid when we where walking home from school and she made me laugh ALOT) that I wasn't watching where I was going and fell... I a ditch smaller than my foot. I was on the ground for about 45mins because I couldn't move it and I couldn't stand on it. When I was on the ground the pain was so excruciating that all I felt like doing was crying but I was laughing instead... which made it worse from the pressure of my laugh. It's been 1 and a half months since then (like I said) and my ankle is still in a massive size... you can tell when you compare my other ankle with my twisted one. I can't do much running or anything that involves my foot for long periods because it starts hurting. Its never been like this before I twisted it. I can't lean it on a certain angle... it must always be straight otherwise that to causes me discomfort. I'm worried because I don't know what wrong with my foot. I don't know if it's good or bad... and I don't know if I should see a doc or not. Please help me! I don't want to be reduced to not being able to do much exercise! That's my personal goal and I can't do that if my foot doesn't allow me to do long periods of exercise without becoming fatigue! I just want my normal foot back :(

YOU NEED to go to the doctors you could have a fracture or something that didn't heal right
And as long as you don't get it checked it most likely will NOT get better on its own

I was going to answer this question on Beauty & Skin Care forum, but it was moved. NOhelp4u, is right, you will need to see a doctor. It doesn't sound like a bruise. Most bruises will start to heal quickly. If your ankle have been swollen for 1 1/2 month, and you can can't move it, then it may be and ankle sprain. The doctor may take X-rays of your foot and ankle to look for fractures or other contusions. Then he/she will use the right approach to treat your ankle. If your ankle injury is severe, it will require surgery. But if it's a mild ankle sprain, the doctor will use cold compressions to get the swollen down, and then wrap your foot and ankle with a compression bandage. So have your parents take you to see a doctor right away.

Yes ,you should go the DR. you could have some damage to your tendons. Did you ice it down when you got home. That first hour is critical when dealing with injuries such as this. It needed to be iced for15- 20 min. then warm heat for the same amount of time for about an hour then get to the hospital.
