    Roper microwave removal
I have a 1982 Roper Microwave (over the range), model 2652000. I am trying to replace it with another and cannot find the mounting screws to lift/tilt it out of position. There are no screws in the surrounding cabinets, nor can I find long screws by removing the vent grill on the top front. Any suggestions would be great!

Figured it out. The entire microwave is supported by a sliding tray which is mounted to cabinets and wall behind. There are two short screws behind the upper front exhaust grill (which needs to be removed to access those screws). There are also a few screws on the under side of the microwave facing upward. Remove the two short screws and the short screws underneath and the whole microwave can then be pulled straight out on its tracks. You'll be left with a sheet metal cage which completely surrounds the microwave. Taking that out is obvious when you see it.

Newer units are all mounted by a wall hanger and 2 long screws that drop through the cabinet above the MW. Open the cabinet and look in the front corners. Most likely will see a screw and washer. If it is an older install, some mount that way, some with screws through the upper grill.
