Fix or buy Tappan Range burners?
On a Frigidaire, Tappan range, Mod#30-2242-00/01 ser#V52140756 See picture Part Detail

The tops of the burners are loose - you can spin them on the base. Flame is coming out the gap between the top and the base and not all ports on top are emitting flame. Those that have flame are blue and orange and are noisy - not the hiss of gas, but more like a muffled jet engine.

Can I solder the top to the base or use some other aluminum based or heat resistant caulk to seal this gap? Or in this case, buy new (only $26 per pair)?

    Thanks!

I think I would try to repair them -- take a pair of pliers and work the lip on

The back side closing the gap and stopping the problem -- Or take J*B Weld

And put a bead around the gap --Solder will not stick to aluminum and the

Heat would melt it if it did work -- If you can't fix it cheap -- you buy new

No you can't solder or otherwise affix them to the base. They may just need cleaning or go to hardware store and purchase new. Should be generic, don't cost much. You should only need the top part. Take along old one to match size.
