My son wants to attend a summer camp in dramatic arts and has been invited to attend a certain school in New York City. He is still in high school and I do not want to get shafted into something that is not going to be worthwhile. This dramatic school is asking in the neighborhood of $5000.00 which includes me figuring in the dorm room. It will be for four weeks of acting and my local university in the theatrical department has not heard of the school before. The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. I need some help!

Well for course to some any school in drama can be a waste. But this appears to be workshops, which don't have to be accredited, and often in areas like drama many schools and some of the very best workshops will not be.


But in this case, this is the University of New York and used to be the School of Film within the university, I would personally worry about your local university if they had not heard of them.
