I have a 2002 Honda CRV. All of the sudden The drivers side speaker up by the windshield and on the drivers side door stopped working. The driver side rear speaker still works. I have checked the fade/balance settings and they are fine. I really don't want to pay to have it fixed if there is something I can try first. Any advice would be greatt THANKS!

Could be the speaker, several ways:
Measure resistance on speaker, Maybe around 8 ohms, swap wires from right and left speaker, A 1 1/2 volt battery touching speaker leads momentarily, scratching wire along battery will produce scratching sound, Battery can also determine Polarity, which ever lead is on positive when speaker Pushes out(not Pulls in) is positive.
A Tone Generator.
